Best Halloween Games

As someone who has planned countless classroom parties (hello room mom!), been to over to 30 trunk or treat events, and hosted my fair share of Halloween parties, you can trust me when I say these are the best Halloween games you’ll find out there!

And that’s not just because I created most of them. We’ve tested these out with our family, friends, kids, and youth groups over the years. If it’s not fun, it isn’t on this list.

Hilarious Halloween Party Games

If you’re looking for games that are active, good for big groups, and just a lot of fun – start here!

1 – Ghostbusters Punch Board Game

Make a ghost punch board with cups, tissue paper, and rubber bands! Have players bust through the ghosts by shooting Nerf guns (or just punch them out) to win their prizes! Get all the instructions for this Halloween punch game!

Make it for teens or adults by having them stand further back or making them answer Halloween questions to get a chance to shoot!

2 – Don’t Lose your Head

This one, inspired by my favorite song from the musical Six, is a Halloween version of my most super viral candy cane games!

Give everyone who is playing a skeleton hand (another Dollar Tree purchase) and a small skull that fits into the hand. Have everyone hold their skeleton hand with one hand and place the other hand behind their back.

When you say go, players have to try and knock off other player’s skulls however they can, without losing their own head. If their skull falls off, they’re out. Last person to still have a head, wins.

3 – Ghost Bowling (aka Skulling)

Use these instructions to make a DIY ghost bowling game for just a few dollars then let kids (or adults) bowl with skulls in a game I like to call skulling!

You can go with the traditional route or try out one of these five unique ghost bowling games (with variations teens and adults will love) instead to make it even more fun!

4 – Bone to Pick

Make a DIY spinner with just a bone, some cardboard, and a straw! Then play one of the three different games that go along with this fun bone to pick Halloween game – all that have players spinning to try and get a treat, not a trick!

5 – Monster March

This monster march Halloween game is one of the best new Halloween party games we made this year! Everyone gets assigned a character and a color (great for groups because you can play with up to 36 people) and they march forward as their character gets rolled to win prizes!

But watch out because if your partner is rolled, you’re out and lose everything! It was easily my family’s favorite Halloween game we played this year!

6 – Pumpkin Pong

This game is one of my favorites because it seems like it should be so easy. And it’s not. Not at all.

Players have to bounce ping pong balls to get them to try to bounce into plastic pumpkins! This pumpkin game is one of my personal favorites for this time of year!

7 – Witch’s Brew

This is just one of ten games that were part of my family’s tournament of terror and is one of the most fun! Make a witch’s brew and players have to race to find things in it, while blindfolded! Get all the instructions in our tournament of terror post!

8 – Pumpkin Roll

Not to be confused with the roll a Jack-O-Lantern game above or the pumpkin roll dessert, this pumpkin roll game will have players rolling pumpkins to win prizes! People will be asking to play this pumpkin roll game year after year!

11 – Tournament of Terror Halloween Games

I’ve mentioned our tournament of terror a few times in this post but we did a series of team Halloween party games to earn points and win prizes as teams all at the end! It included all sorts of games from a bone stick relay to drinking vampire blood! It was so much fun and you can find all of the Halloween games for teens (and adults!) that we played in that post!

12 – Witch Hat Ring Toss

This simple Halloween game is perfect for any age depending on where you make people stand! You can either order this game online or pick up witch hat chip containers like I did at Dollar Tree to make your game!

Add prizes to each of the bases of the ring toss, have players stand where you want (kids closer and adults further away), and let them toss. If they ring a witch’s hat, they win a prize! You can see this game in action in this viral TikTok video!

13 – Halloween Family Feud

A Halloween version of the popular game show Family Feud – teams compete to see if they can guess which answers are the most popular to win points. Get the printables and Family feud questions and answers here.

14 – I’ll Be Watching You

This game is played in groups of four. Put three small Halloween buckets and a bowl full of eyeball ping pong balls (I grabbed them at our Dollar Tree, but I’ve seen them plenty of places) on each side of a square or rectangle table then have someone stand behind them.

When you say go, each person has to take their ping pong balls and try to bounce them to land in another person’s cups. If they land it in someone’s cup, that cup gets turned over.

As soon as all three of someone’s cups are turned over, they’re out. The last person person standing wins.

15 – Spider Tic Tac Toe

Setup a tic-tac-toe board using tape then give two players different color plastic spiders (or spider rings). To play, they have to slide the spider across the floor or table and land it in a square to play there.

If they land it in an unoccupied square, they get that spot! If they miss, it’s the next person’s turn! If you knock out someone else’s spider, it’s your spot now! First to three in a row wins!

16 – Pumpkin Plinko

Tape large cups or pumpkins to the end of the table with prizes inside (or associated with them). Then setup a bunch of orange plastic cups on a table and raise one end of the table slightly so it’s on an incline!

Then give players ping pong balls or Halloween bouncy balls and let them drop the balls down the table, hopefully into the cups below to win prizes!

17 – Ghoulish Recall

This Halloween memory game could technically be played by kids as well but it’s better for teens or adults! Show images from this Halloween PowerPoint on a group meeting call (or in person) and see who can answer questions about the images after studying them for a minute.

You never know what’s going to get asked or who’s going to remember the tiniest little things! This one works great for middle school and high school classrooms because it comes with a downloadable PowerPoint!

19 – Quik Draw!

This is another super fun Halloween game that would be perfect for any age but kids will really enjoy it! This Halloween pictionary type game will have players trying to guess who a character is based on clues then trying to draw them quickly and well!

This is another game you can play for a team meeting, on a conference call, or in person! it’s a simple game that’s hilarious and always a huge hit with a group of kids or adults! We’ve done it at classroom parties, and it’s a hit!

20 – Wind Up Race

You could really do this for any holiday, but I think it’s super fun for Halloween. Get everyone little wind up toys for everyone who wants to play to have one.

Everyone winds up their toy and places it on the starting line then when you say go, they race to try to get to the finish line first, rewinding their toys only once they’ve completely stopped moving. First to cross wins!

21- Choose the Candy

Open a large bag of candy and put stickers on the bottom on some of the candy (at least equal to the number of teams you have).

One team member must pick a piece of candy, check for a sticker, and if there isn’t a sticker eat the piece of candy. They must keep picking candy pieces until they’ve found a sticker.

23 – Trick or Treat Cup Game

This may be the least original name for a game ever but this trick or treat style game is so fun! Place treats under some cups and tricks (aka challenges) under others and if they get a treat, they keep it. If they get a trick, they have to do the trick then get back in line! You can see this game in action in this viral video!

24 – Roll Up Your Reward

Not a clever name, I know, but this one is still a fun game! Tape prizes (or you could do prizes and duds) to the end of caution tape and hang it over a table.

To play, someone has to either answer a Halloween trivia question or complete a Halloween challenge of some other kind. If they complete it or answer the question correctly, they get to choose a piece of tape to roll up and win whatever is on the other end.

Or you could skip the questions and just let people choose which one to roll up!
