<\/div>\nThis fun New Year\u2019s Eve Jeopardy game is a fun way to remember all the happenings from the past year! The Jeopardy game includes 60 different questions that are filled with 2025 trivia, events, and important people! <\/p>\n With our Thanksgiving Jeopardy and Christmas Jeopardy games being so popular, I thought it\u2019d be fun to make a New Year\u2019s Eve version that incorporates things just from this past year (kind of like my New Year\u2019s Eve trivia games). <\/p>\n This New Year\u2019s Eve Jeopardy game is played just like the actual game show with regular Jeopardy, double Jeopardy, and even a final Jeopardy question at the end! All of the categories are based on things from this year \u2013 things like 67, Life of a Showgirl, and more! <\/p>\n It\u2019s a simple addition to any New Year\u2019s Eve party, especially if you get our PowerPoint templates that all ready to play right now without any work on your part!<\/p>\n Depending on the group you\u2019re playing with, there are a couple of different ways you could use these New Year\u2019s Eve Jeopardy questions and answers \u2013 individual, small groups, or large teams! Or you could really just use the questions as your own 2025 trivia questions! <\/p>\n Start by figuring out your group size and the logistics of how to play with your group. I\u2019ve included suggestions based on the number of people you\u2019re playing with, but you can just play however makes the most sense to you! <\/p>\n Small group (up to 5 people)<\/strong> \u2013 everyone plays individually, play just like the normal game show where everyone is on their own!<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Medium group (6-16 people<\/strong>) \u2013 split into teams and have the teams work together to answer the questions and play. Stick to four teams of four people or less. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n Large group (17+ people)<\/strong> \u2013 have everyone play individually and just hand out treats, prizes, etc. for individual question answers \u2013 you could put a spoon or something at the front and people have to grab it if they know the answer. Or just have people keep track of their points and the person with the most points at the end wins!<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n Give each team or individual a buzzer. (I recommend having teams rotate who is manning the buzzer if you\u2019re playing with teams every question or every few questions so everyone gets a chance.) Or just have the buzzer available to the entire team and anyone can buzz in for the team, but that does get a little more complicated.<\/p>\n I love these buzzers<\/strong> because they make different sounds so it\u2019s easy to hear which one buzzed in first, which is trickier than you think!<\/p>\n If you\u2019re hosting and the one asking the questions, have another person who can help you determine the order of the buzzers since you\u2019ll likely be focused on asking the question, kind of like if you\u2019re playing our floor game! They can also keep score for you! <\/p>\n<\/div>\n Start the game by reading the $200 question in the first column on your board. It might be different depending on how you laid out your categories but in our board, it would be the In Pop Culture for $200 question. <\/p>\n The first team to hit their buzzer has five seconds to answer the question. The answers are in the form of a question (e.g., Who is Ariana Grande?), but you can decide if you care if they answer that way or not. <\/p>\n If any team doesn\u2019t buzz in within 10 seconds, you can tell them the answer to the question and whoever chose the next question can choose another one. <\/p>\n Whoever answers the question correctly wins both the points and the chance to choose the next question \u2013 both category and value. <\/p>\n So for example, they might choose Heroes for $400 as their question or Villains for $800. Remove that question from the board once it\u2019s asked so that people know which questions have already been answered. Creating a post-it note game (like we did with our Friendsgiving Jeopardy board), a board with small envelopes with papers in them, or using our PowerPoint templates makes it simple to see the already answered questions! <\/p>\n Read the question that corresponds with the value and category they chose (in our example above \u2013 Heroes for $800) and start the process again \u2013 whoever buzzes in first and answers correctly wins those points and control of the board. <\/p>\n Keep going until you\u2019ve gotten through all of the questions in the initial Jeopardy round then setup the board and play Double Jeopardy in the exact same way, except instead of $200, $400, $600, $800, and $1000 questions you\u2019ll use $400, $800, $1200, $1600, and $2000 questions. <\/p>\n There are daily doubles noted in the PDF if you\u2019d like to use them in the game. They\u2019re also indicated in the PowerPoint templates. <\/p>\n When someone chooses a Daily Double:<\/p>\n Announce that the question is a daily double before you ask the question. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n The contestant who chose the question only wagers how much they want the question to be worth, up to the amount that they have in the bank. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n Ask just that contestant the question and if they answer it correctly, they win the points \u2013 if they don\u2019t, they lose the points from their score. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n The last question of the New Year\u2019s Eve Jeopardy game is called Final Jeopardy and it\u2019s one single question. While I have included this in my game sets, it\u2019s totally optional if you want to do it not. It\u2019s better for small or medium groups or just an extra question to use if you\u2019re playing with larger groups. <\/p>\n Read the Final Jeopardy category (not the question) to the group.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Have everyone write down how much they wager on the question, up to the amount they have in the bank. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n Read the question and give everyone one minute to write down their answer. Don\u2019t forget to play Jeopardy music! <\/p>\n<\/li>\n Go through answers one at a time and anyone who answered correctly wins what they wagered, anyone who doesn\u2019t loses what they wagered. I like to start with whoever has the least money then move toward the most. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n The winner of New Year\u2019s Eve Jeopardy is the person at the end of all three rounds with the highest number of points. If you\u2019re playing with teams, use the team\u2019s score instead and the team with the highest total points wins!<\/p>\n Don\u2019t forget to give the winning player or team a prize \u2013 everyone loves prizes! Since this is New Year\u2019s Eve Jeopardy, something trendy or popular from this past year would be a really fun prize. Something like <\/p>\n While there are technically three rounds of Jeopardy, you can play just one or two of them or just the single Jeopardy round plus final Jeopardy. Choose what makes the most sense to you! <\/p>\n<\/div>\n I have two different versions of a New Year\u2019s Eve Jeopardy that you can use to play your game. If you\u2019d like to just use a version that\u2019s all done for you \u2013 I have PowerPoint templates in my shop that you can just download and play with. You\u2019ll need PowerPoint (not Google Slides or Keynotes) to use these, but they\u2019re great!<\/p>\n If you don\u2019t want a digital version, I\u2019ve also created a set of printouts including categories and values that work with making the Post-It note New Year\u2019s Eve Jeopardy board you can see in this post! Or skip the post-it notes and just print these on paper and tape them to a board! <\/p>\n Start by printing out a copy of the blank Jeopardy printouts sheet (the one that says Jeopardy Board Printout at the top). You can print as many as you want or just one and use that one over and over again (like I did).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Add standard 3\u00d73 post-it notes to the boxes, sticky side down. You can use whatever color post-it notes you want. I used Friendsgiving colors for my board, but you can use whatever color you want. <\/p>\n<\/li>\n Put that paper back into your printer, making sure to load it correctly so that the post-it notes will be printed on (there should be an icon in your print tray). And make sure your post-it notes are all pressed down firmly so they don\u2019t get caught in the printer.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Print the first sheet of values and they\u2019ll print right on top of the post-it notes. Repeat for the rest of the value sheets and the Friendsgiving category cards.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n Hang all of those post-it notes either up on the wall, a chalk board, or do what I did and add them to a foam board! <\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n Once you have added all your categories and values, you can add a heading of some sort at the top. I just printed out a New Year\u2019s Eve Header for my board, but you could get super creative here if you really want \u2013 feel free to get crafty!<\/p>\n Set up a Double Jeopardy board as well either on another foam board or on the back of the regular Jeopardy board for you to use.<\/p>\n I created PowerPoint versions of this game that you can get in my shop. All you have to do is download and play! Note, you do have to have PowerPoint to use the templates! <\/p>\n<\/details>\n Jeopardy can\u2019t end in a tie. If there\u2019s a tie, use one of the questions from the other Jeopardy game set (I recommend a $1000 or $2000 one) and whoever buzzes in first out of the people tied wins. <\/p>\n<\/details>\n I highly recommend the buzzers just to make it as easy as possible for you to see who buzzed in first but some other options would be to have an item that people have to grab (like I do in these party games for adults), just make sure it\u2019s something soft like a stuffed animal or pair of socks! <\/p>\n<\/details>\n The New Year\u2019s Eve categories used in this game are all things from this past year! Things like on screen hits (movies from this year), in memoriam (people who died in the past year), and headlines (news making headlines from 2025). <\/p>\n<\/details><\/div>\n I\u2019ve created a set of 2025 Jeopardy questions and answers that include six regular Jeopardy categories and questions, six Double Jeopardy categories and answers, and a Final Jeopardy category and question for a total of 61 question options!<\/p>\n I\u2019m not going to list all the questions and answers here, you can download those at the bottom of this post, but here are a couple of examples of the Friendsgiving Jeopardy questions and answers you\u2019ll find in the download.
